No one should have to grieve alone

Whether your bereavement is recent or long ago, grief can feel overwhelming, isolating and hard to put into words.
At Grieving Friends, you’ll find people who understand that pain and are ready to listen, without judgment and at your pace. We offer a mixture of one-to-one and group support, community events and practical help, so you don’t have to face grief on your own.

How We Can Help

Grieving Friends is here for anyone affected by bereavement or significant loss, as well as those supporting them and local organisations caring for bereaved people. You don’t need a referral, diagnosis or faith background—if you are hurting, you are welcome. Our support is centred on relationship, hospitality and listening.

Safe listening space

Calm, confidential time to talk about your loss and how it’s affecting you.

Group support and community

Regular support groups where people share, listen and learn from one another’s experiences.

Bereavement Conversations

Interactive mornings combining presentation, discussion and reflection to help you make sense of grief.

Practical support & signposting

Help connecting with further psychological, emotional, spiritual or practical support where needed.

About Us

Our hope is simple: that no one in our community has to grieve alone.
Grieving Friends began with personal experiences of deep loss and the realisation that many people grieve with little or no support. What started as a few honest conversations has grown into a support network and a developing Grieving Support Centre in Harlow.
